About Pretty QR
Pretty QR is a free QR code generator that lets small businesses, marketers, and creators design branded QR codes with custom colours, logos, shapes, and frames, without an account.
What Pretty QR does
QR code generator for six content types
Create QR codes for URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi networks, vCard contacts, email, and phone numbers. Each type has its own form, so the code opens the correct action on the scanner’s phone.
Colours, module shapes, and gradients
Set foreground and background colours, gradients, and the shape of the dots and corner markers. You see every change in a live preview, so you can match your brand before you download.
Logo in the centre of the code
Upload your logo and set its size (10% to 50% of the code) and margin. When a logo is present, Pretty QR switches to the highest error-correction level (H), so the code still scans with part of it covered.
Frames and shaped QR codes
Put the code in a rectangle or speech-bubble frame with a call-to-action label, or give it a circle, heart, star, or shield silhouette. A frame tells people why to scan, which matters on menus, posters, and packaging.
Template library
Start from ready-made templates for social profiles (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook), colour themes, and shaped designs. A template gives you a finished look in one click that you can then edit.
PNG, SVG, and JPG downloads
Download high-resolution PNG and JPG files for screens, or SVG vector files for print at any size. Every saved design also gets a shareable link, so you can come back and edit it later.
What makes Pretty QR different
No account and no trial
You open the editor and download a finished code without sign-up. QR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com) starts with a 14-day trial that needs payment details to continue, and its larger plans bill annually only.
Static codes that never expire
Pretty QR makes static QR codes: the content is in the code itself, so it keeps working with no subscription behind it. Subscription tools that use dynamic (redirect) codes need an active paid plan to keep those codes editable and working.
No cap on the number of codes
Create as many codes as you need at no cost. Flowcode’s free plan allows 2 codes, and its Pro Plus plan costs USD 25 per month, billed annually, for 50 codes.
Design-first vector export
The SVG download keeps your colours, logo, shape, and frame, so the print file matches the preview. QR Code Monkey, a popular free alternative, supports its design and logo options only in PNG and SVG, not in its PDF and EPS exports.
Shaped QR codes and social templates
Circle, heart, star, and shield silhouettes, speech-bubble frames, and templates for six social networks are built in. You do not need a separate design tool to turn the code into a finished graphic.

The team behind Pretty QR
Ozan Tunca, founder and developer
Ozan Tunca founded Pretty QR and builds it end to end, from the QR rendering engine to the template library. Product decisions, code, and support all go through the founder.
How Pretty QR started
Pretty QR was built to make QR codes that look like part of a brand instead of a plain black-and-white square. The first release shipped a live-preview editor with colours, logos, and templates, and later releases added shaped codes, six content types, and optional accounts.
Team
Pretty QR is an independent, founder-led product. The founder handles product, engineering, and support directly, so feedback reaches the person who writes the code.
Sister products
- WaveVisual: An online sound wave art generator that turns audio files and Spotify tracks into personalized visual art.
How Pretty QR works
Onboarding
There is no onboarding. Open pretty-qr.com, enter your link or content, and you have a working code in under a minute. An account is optional and only keeps your designs in one list.
Turnaround time
Your code is ready as soon as you download it. Nothing waits on a review, an approval, or a publish step.
Who you work with
Questions and feedback go to the founder, who builds the product. There is no ticket queue between you and the person who can fix the issue.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pretty QR really free?
Yes. Creating, customizing, and downloading QR codes is free, including for commercial use, and the codes carry no watermark. A paid Pro plan for batch generation and print-ready files is planned, but the current tool stays free.
Do Pretty QR codes expire?
No. Pretty QR makes static QR codes, which store the content in the code itself. They keep working as long as the link or content they point to exists.
Does Pretty QR track scans?
No. Static codes do not pass through a Pretty QR server when someone scans them, so there are no scan analytics. If you need scan counts, point the code at a link with UTM parameters and read the results in your own analytics tool.
Can I edit a QR code after I print it?
You can change the design at any time, but the content of a static code is fixed once printed. To be able to change the destination later, point the code at a page you control and update that page instead.
Who makes Pretty QR?
Pretty QR is an independent product built in Berlin, Germany, by founder Ozan Tunca, and it launched in 2025. You can reach the team at [email protected].
Do I need an account?
No. Every feature works without an account. An optional account keeps your saved designs and custom templates in one place across devices.
